You're probably reading my title and thinking, "Photography? Yes...he knows a bit about that. Fashion? Really?? Yes...I had the exact same thought! Ha, ha! "Inspiration?...well...maybe...yes probably." I have a reason for posting about all of these so please entertain me and read on :-)
Last week I had the honor of attending a very amazing workshop in the Sacramento, California suburb of Granite Bay. It was hosted by my friends the Fodes, Don and Teri at their beautiful photography studio. If you know them, you know they are two of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet! Teri's workshop was her "flagship" workshop called "Voice Your Brand." We all learned a lot from Teri during our packed two days!
I didn't plan on learning about some spring fashion trends, but you know what!? I did! Did you know that the Pantone Color of the Year is Rose Quartz and Serenity? Well, now you do! And I also learned that denim on denim is a cool fashion trend right now. So there you go...if you didn't know these little tid bits, now you do! Knowing these fashion tips, we had to opportunity to photograph three beautiful models at the workshop who just happened to be wearing some of these exact fashion trends. Lauren, Kate and Stephanie all had their senior portraits created by Teri and they were so fun to get to work with!
After the workshop was over, I gained nine new friends to add to my circle of friends in the photography industry. We were all from different parts of the country - Arkansas, Georgia, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, Utah and of course, California. I kind of felt like the odd man out because (other than Don, Teri's husband) I was the only man in attendance! But all of these ladies had their own unique story, their own business and we all left feeling like God had blessed us greatly by the knowledge we gained and the new friendships we formed. We all left our businesses for a big part of a week and this time of year is a busy time for us all. This workshop couldn't have happened at a more opportune time because it helped us to regain focus and for me, helped me to reconnect creatively more than I have felt in a long time. God puts people, and opportunities in our lives when we least expect it!
I am starting to book sessions for the summer and from the looks of things, my schedule could fill up pretty fast! If you're a current junior and want your senior portraits photographed this summer, fill out my session questionnaire to get a headstart on securing your spot!
For everyone who reads this post this week...I hope you're blessed with a great week and opportunities to let His light shine!
